Lower Facelift

Many individuals are very happy to discover that they can get the rejuvenation results they want with a lower facelift — which addresses only the lower portion of the face — as opposed to a full facelift. This procedure is often combined with a neck lift.

About the lower facelift

A lower facelift focuses on all the parts that are below the corners of your mouth. This includes the nasolabial folds, marionette lines, jawline, submental (under chin) area, jowls, and the neck.
The main goals of this type of facelift are to soften lines and wrinkles, improve the appearance of creases around the mouth, remove excess neck skin, and to tighten and define the loose skin of the jawline and jowls.

What’s the difference
between a lower facelift and a:

Neck lift?
A lower facelift and a neck lift both focus on the lower half of the face and jawline, but a lower facelift targets sagging skin and wrinkles around the cheeks and jawline, while a neck lift concentrates more on improving lax skin of the neck and a double chin.
Mini facelift?
While a mini facelift does address the lower half of the face, it doesn’t address the neck — and it only pulls the skin very slightly for a more subtle change.
Traditional facelift?
A lower facelift is different than a traditional (full) facelift because it focuses on the lower third of the face. It doesn’t address the mid-face or upper area.

Surgery, recovery, and results

Dr. Ali performs facelift surgery at his certified StationL facility in Montreal under general anesthesia. Directly after your facelift, a cooling mask will be placed on your skin to help with bruising and swelling. In addition, small tubes may be inserted beneath the skin to prevent fluid accumulation. If necessary, Dr. Ali may recommend an overnight stay at one of his Station's recovery suites, where you will be cared for by a highly trained registered nurse who specializes in plastic surgery recovery.

Moreover, if you live within 20 miles of our facility, Dr. Ali will offer a visit to your home by a nurse who is trained to assist you with post-operative recovery. The nurse will change any dressings, monitor your recovery, assist you with your medication, and provide Dr. Ali with an update on your consultation. This is part of Dr. Ali’s signature concierge surgical and recovery experience. Patients are typically able to return to work in 1 to 2 weeks following surgery. As swelling and bruising subsides, your final results will become visible.

How do I know which facelift technique is right for me?

There are many choices for facelift techniques, and it can be difficult to know which one will be best for your specific cosmetic goals. If you think a facelift may be right for you but you’re not sure which one, your first step should be to meet with a specialist. Contact us to set up your consultation with Dr.Ali so that he can perform a detailed assessment to determine the ideal procedure for you.
